The Way Lab, Columbia, & Updates
It's been a while since I last posted, so I figured I'd spend the night reflecting on what I've done and learned over the past few months. First, I visited Dr. Gregory Way's lab and learned about Weishan's work in virtual staining. Virtual staining involves training a deep learning model to predict what a cell would look like if it were stained with fluorescent dyes. I am excited to share that I will be helping Weishan's lab by researching whether a smaller subset of features in calculating cell traits can improve the model's efficiency and accuracy, which I hope to share soon.
More so, this October, I had the opportunity to visit Columbia University through the Engineering Preview at Columbia, and I'm ecstatic to announce that I've submitted my Early Decision application. I got to explore Dr. Hung's Cellular Engineering Lab and their work with synovial cells and joint modeling, which connected nicely to my last research project on ankles, where I worked with rat ankle histology images.
This website has also received significant updates, including implementing 24, which you can access through this link. Give it a shot, and let me know what you think of it :)
